About Shanty Clauses: 

I have always loved Christmas and Santa.  Like many reading this, I was taken to the department stores as a child for the annual ritual photograph with Santa.  Looking back on the faces of some of these dear old gentlemen, I see stress, a little world weariness, maybe even some sadness behind the fake beards.  Some of these Santas were probably just glad to be earning extra money for their families for the holidays.  Of course, I never saw any of this as a child.  Even though the reality of their lives may have been a little rough, when I looked in their eyes they made me believe in Santa…  My Shanty Claus dolls are dedicated to all the department store Santas of my childhood.
